Web Worker Head to Head: Google Calendar vs. 30Boxes

Posted on May 20th, 2007 in 30 boxes, Airset, Backpackit, Google Calendar, Yahoo Calendar

On Web Worker Dialy it is Google-takes-on-the-world-week. This week it’s the battle of the online calendars:

There are quite a few contenders we could have selected to take on the Big G…Backpack Calendar, Yahoo Calendar, Airset…to name a few. In the end, 30Boxes won a chance in the ring because in a sense, it started the game. Back in February 2006, it was revolutionary to type “Meeting Barbara tues noon” and have your calendar just know to schedule the appointment on the right date with the right time. Then Google Calendar came along a few months later, forcing the 3-person shop developing 30Boxes to up their game. So in a bit of a David vs. Goliath match, let’s set an appointment to pit these two calendar applications against each other and see who’s left standing.

30Boxes Partners With PBWiki

Posted on February 24th, 2007 in 30 boxes

It’s a great match. PBWiki gets a best-in-class calendar app and 30Boxes gets to provide another use case for their technology as well as an ability to market into PBWiki’s user base.

It is perfect for workgroups, teachers, committees, heck, anyone with a wiki probably needs a calendar.

30 Boxes Turns One: Review of a Best of Breed Web App

Posted on February 13th, 2007 in 30 boxes, General

The 30 Boxes blog celebrated today the first anniversary of their product launch. The online calendar space has been a tough one, ever since Google released its calendar app in April last year. But right from the start 30 Boxes has been recognized as an innovative app and not just your usual Outlook clone. 30 Boxes takes great pride in being only 3 people, but managing to not only foot it with giants like Google and Yahoo - but out-innovate them. I asked one of the 3, Narendra Rocherolle, to tell me about the user growth and product milestones 30 Boxes experienced in 2006. Read the response here.

30 Boxes Builds a Kick Ass Calendar Mash Up Machine

Posted on November 10th, 2006 in 30 boxes

Thomas Hawk’s Digital Connection posts this article on mashup betwwen Flickr and 30Boxes:

Narendra Rocherolle just shot me over what is the best mash up widget I’ve seen all year. Basically 30 Boxes has built a way for you to embed a calendar using just about any RSS feed anywhere you’d like. If you check out the calendar above it is a mashup between a 30 Boxes calendar and my Flickr RSS feed showing photos by date taken. So by looking at the calendar above you click through day by day to see what Thomas Hawk was up to. This is a fantastic way to showcase your photography (similar to Flickr’s own archive calendar) that you can take with you wherever you want to go.
